We do not know the date of the creation of the Jewish cemetery in Książ Wielki, in the 19th century there was also a wooden mortuary with the gravedigger's apartment next to the existing cemetery.
During the Second World War, the Nazis carried out executions of people of Jewish origin in the cemetery. In the fall of 1942, on the order of the occupation authorities, the liquidation of the cemetery began. The tombstones were torn out and used to build pavements.
Several years ago, the cemetery area was fenced. There are no traces of tombstones in its area, even those mentioned in the 1980s have disappeared.
The only preserved tombstone can be found at the gate. In the necropolis there is a monument to the victims of the Holocaust.
The entrance gate is closed with a rusty padlock. You can get to the cemetery using the courtesy of the owners of the nearby property, from the side of which the fence of the necropolis is partially destroyed, or on the other side by walking along a narrow path between the fence and the stream.
The cemetery area is overgrown and neglected. The boards are destroyed, the fence is devastated in some places.
